
The Equitable Gourmet™ approach: sustainable relationships
Equitable Gourmet™ aims to support its producers by developing long-term relationships based on sustainable working practices. Our policies include:
- redistribution of 25% of our profits to its suppliers;
- ensuring that all agreements with our suppliers are contractual and fair;
- working to secure NGO technical and business support services for its suppliers;
- working with our suppliers in forecasting yearly demand and developing their production schedules;
- paying our suppliers according to best practice and, where resources permit, provide them with down-payments on orders; and
- having an independent panel to oversee profit distribution and supplier relationships.
Equitable Gourmet™ is in a unique position to support rural community-development projects. Through our work with NGOs and Donor agencies, we aim to partner with local communities by offering a solid market channel for their food production project initiatives.
